Talent Verification Platform 'Specter,' Additional Funding from U.S. and Vietnam VC

HR tech company Specter, which operates a talent verification platform, has received venture capital investments from the United States and Vietnam, marking the beginning of global expansion in APAC, especially in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

On the 12th of December, Specter announced that it had received a cumulative investment of 80,000 USD through Series B funding. This investment round includes new participation from Vietnamese VC Do Ventures, and the existing investor, Storm Ventures from Silicon Valley, made a follow-up investment.

Specter has been recognized for its high scalability as a global service and consistent growth in key metrics, and it plans to use the secured funds for technological advancement to support its development in the global market.

Yoon Kyoung Wook, CEO of Specter, highlighted, "This investment round is significant as we are already seeing overseas customers, including those from Singapore, and it will help accelerate this growth."

Now, Specter is preparing for full-fledged entry into the Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia markets. Notably, before establishing a local corporation in Singapore, the company generated revenue from a local multinational corporation’s Asia-Pacific headquarters.

Specter provides a talent verification service to create a fair recruiting market, allowing verified HR personnel and colleagues to write references for the applicants and check for competencies, ethical awareness, and cultural fit with the company. Additionally, it offers a premium talent verification service for executive-level recruiting, a team inside service that diagnoses organizations based on individual employees, and an interactive AI service called TEO that assists recruiting managers in decision-making throughout the recruitment process.

The company reported that as of the end of 2024, the cumulative number of registered reputation members had exceeded 160,000, with an average of 4.1 references written per person, highlighting the objectivity and reliability of its service. Furthermore, it emphasized that over 4,000 companies have adopted Specter’s services in the recruitment process within just three years of its launch.
